Product Details
Dovetail Shawl is cast on at one wing tip with a few stitches and then simply knit into a widening triangle for a slightly asymmetrical shape. The color work is made easy by the simple slip stitch pattern and the use of two different colorways of self striping yarn. The pattern is easy to memorize and the shifting colors keep the work interesting. The size is easily adjustable to the yardage available, making it simple to knit a scarf, a shawl, any size desired. The color work is much easier than it looks! You are working with only one color per row. Shawl sample shown: black/rainbow Kauni - 60" X 27", using 75 grams each of two colorways. Scarf sample shown: Noro silk garden Sock - 44" X 23", using 75 grams each of two colorways.
This pattern contains both charts and written instruction for the colorwork. Any fingering weight wool with a long color repeat will work well with this pattern. Or try one self striping combined with a solid.
