    About

My daughter is getting married next May and wants a Summer Fair/Festival type feel to her wedding and is hiring a village hall and playing field for the event. She's going to be using hay bales as seating and has asked me to make as many blankets and throws as possible to go over the bales for people to sit on and also to put around their shoulders in the evening as it chills down. I am using various learned techniques, some are freeform and no pattern, others are bit of pattern and some will be from various CAL's I have enjoyed. Like the Spice of Life CAL in the picture. I've only just started the project and the WIP you see in the front is going to be a "no repeat" Stylecraft DK wave blanket. I intend using as many of the wonderful colours in the range as possible, never repeating the colour in the whole blanket!

My daughter Rachel Anne Sewter got married Aug before last. They hired a barn and field. Had bunting , hay bales, painted all the barn, long tables with white chairs with coloured backs, a band, a bar, small and large bouncy castles, icecream man, roasts with all the trimmings, balloons , bubbles and the bands for your wrist with the colours inside that glow. Forgot their name. They now have a son William , just 7 months and 22lb, though he weighted 9 lb 2 I think at birth.Look her up on my facebook --Shirley Clement. Oh, and they had camping on the field for everyone who wanted after the do. It was the last warm day of summer and was a lovely day.

Wow what a neat idea to cover the haybales with crochet and knitted blankets!
