    About

I wanted to create an heirloom ensemble to welcome baby Sam. I used the hat pattern from UKHKA #36, and a sock pattern that I received years ago in a class (typewritten, no attribution). The ribbon is vintage French 100% silk ribbon, 13mm wide. This project was special to me because doctors thought Sam would be born with a heart problem that would require surgery; but all of her cardio results came back normal, and she's perfectly healthy. Her mom (my stepdaughter) and dad plan to have her wear this for a portrait photography.

Notes: I used the size 6 mos instructions, but this yarn is a very light DK. I ended up with a dress closer to 3 mos in size, which was fine with me.

Very sweet and beautiful. I love the satin ribbons. It's not often that I see pretty satin ribbons on baby clothes any more. Your workmanship is right on and as Jan O said Beautifully delicate!
