    About

My daughter saw this pattern on the internet and asked me to make it for her. It was taken from a quilting pattern, but the pattern was in crochet. I looked at it and decided I could knit this. After trial and error I came up with modular pieces in garter stitch knitted to a template I made. Sewing them edge to edge with a blind stitch, the afghan is completely reversible. She loves it and that is what is important.

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 5.00mm (US 8) 25cm

    Accessories

Other : In sewing the modular pieced together, I used a regular large needle and fingering weight yarn. It was tedious sewing edge to edge, but it worked.

    Measurements

Notes: Since I created the pattern, I used the book: NO-PATTERN KNITS, Simple modular techniques for making wonderful garments and accessories. by Pat Ashforth and Steve Plummer on Amazon. Through lots of trial and error, I managed to come up with a workable template I could repeat numerous times. Many times I had to put it aside and come back with renewed conviction to finish it. Sewing it together was another problem to keep the stitching from showing. I used aran color on the aran parts of the blocks and black on the black parts in a sock weight yarn because worsted weight was too bulky. It was a chalenge, but I succeeded.

Wow! This looks like a lot of work...and I hate the sewing part of any knitting project! You did a great job, I'm glad it was well received.
