When i rediscovered crochet two years ago, i was fascinated by the range of patterns available for squares. I bought Jan Eaton's book of 200 different squares, and felt compelled to try out almost every one. I decided to make them in a limited colour palette, so they could be joined together to form a sort of crazy patchwork for my son. My daughter complained that she wanted one, so (quite ambitiously!) I started another blanket in pink and grey (which I will upload soon). Neither one is finished, but I haven't given up on them. I keep making a new square now and then - when I have six I block them, and then eventually join and add them to the the appropriate blanket. The different patterns produce different size squares, even when using the same yarn and hook size, so I try to adapt them so they all measure 15cm x 15cm. It doesn't always work! I have to join creatively, making it quite literally "crazy" patchwork.
