Product details

The Rose of Mooncoin is a ballad written in the 1800s by Watt Murphy, teacher, builder, writer and poet, for his lost love Elizabeth. Elizabeth's parents sent her from her home in County Kilkenny, Ireland to England; Watt was heart-broken and composed this tune in her memory. In part the lyrics say: "Where the thrush and the robin their sweet notes entwine" - what a beautiful image to translate into cables.

This cabled boot topper is worked in the round from the bottom (tall ribbing) up. The front and back of the boot topper are identical. Size S is shown in the photographs; larger sizes are created by adding additional Honeycomb cable columns at the side of the boot topper.

Both charts and written directions are provided. Each size has its own charts / written directions. Top Ribbing is bound off 'in pattern' so knitters will need to be able to 'read' knit and purl stitches on the needles.

A photo tutorial for the Estonian Cast On is included as a separate PDF.
