    About

It was the pattern's name that first caught my eye (bringing to mind a story by Joseph Conrad, and an episode of BBC Merlin featuring Gaius the Secret Sharer). Then the design intrigued me. And then I completely fell in love with the yarn, despite not usually creating for myself in wool. The results are really beautiful, if I do say so myself!

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 3.50mm (US 4) 100cm

    Accessories

    • Stitch Markers

    Measurements

    130cm x 200cm x 290cm

Notes: I like the recommended yarn colour of Washed Denim, but as soon as I saw the colour Morning Rain, that was it. Nothing else would do!

One thing I'd do differently next time: I followed the recommendation of doing a yarn-over after the first stitch of each new row, to help create a softer edge. On the whole, though, I wish I hadn't. I think a slightly 'crisper' edge would have been just fine, as shown in the pattern's photos.
