    About

I knitted this blanket while caring for my aunt (not blood related) in her last year of life. The knitting kept my aunt interested in what I was doing as she saw the project develop and also kept my mind occupied as caring is not intellectually demanding. One of the nurses who used to come and help bathing came from Ireland and took photos of the finished blanket to send to her friends knitting club. Orla told me my blanket was and heirloom, so that's how it came to go to my brother and sister-in-law to be passed down through their family in due course. The colourful wools I used as I love colours in my life and ithe use of colour was one way to brighten the days.
