I chose the colors for this duo of shawl designs, ***The New Yorker***, while watching a brief documentary on the illustrator Christoph Niemann. A whimsical abstract artist, his accomplishments include quite a number of cover illustrations for The New Yorker magazine. He says that his favorite colors are yellow and black, yellow being the perfect color for New York, which was the first city he moved to on his own. These two shawls give a nod to Mr. Niemann and his interesting depictions of dynamic city life.
