I made this for my new bible I received at Christmas.

    I used a simple double crochet stitch (https://www.thespruce.com/double-crochet-979081)
    Measure your bible to see how many stitches you will need to start with.
    I crocheted the rows needed to the height of my bible then doubled.
    I then crocheted from the bottom of one side all the way up making my strap then joining to the other side going down. You can go back and make your strap bigger.
