    About

I wanted to knit a cardigan with as few seams to sew up as possible - the bit I like least about knitting is the sewing together at the end of a project! I also wanted a bit of a challenge. I found this pattern on Love Knitting and immediately liked it. The sleeves are knitted on a circular needle, so no underarm sleeve seam; the body is knitted on a circular needle, so no side seams, and the sleeves are joined into the body, so it's then knitted all in one - just a little bit of seam under the arm and the joining of the collar along the back of the neck...fabulous! Was I disappointed? Certainly not! Believe me, the rows get pretty long when you get the back, two fronts and two sleeves, all on the same needle, and I could have done with a slightly longer cable than the 80cm one I was using, so watch out with your cables and make sure you cross them in the right direction, or you'll have a lot to undo to correct your mistake! I love this designer and will use more of her patterns

    • Circular 4.50mm (US 7) 80cm
Other : Cable needle and stitch markers

    Measurements

Notes: ~I made the fifth size - 41.5 inches. I am normally a size 12-14 and thought that the next size up (43.25) would be too big. Silly me! I should have given more credence to the designer's note that recommends 3-4 inches of positive ease. As it is, the size I knitted is OK, but I wouldn't want it any smaller! I didn't make any changes to the pattern, except that I did add a bit of length to the pockets before I sewed them down.
