    About

A deep sofa that required something for my legs to drape over to prevent a permanent horizontal position.
    Pattern in brief:
With long 12mm needles cast on 55 stitches.
    8 row pattern repeat.
    RS. Rows 1,3,5,7 = P5 (top),K10,P2,K21,P2,K15
    WS. Rows 2,4,6 = K5,P10,K2,P21,K2,P15
    Row 8 = K to end.
Continue 8 row repeat until length of work creates required diameter when lain in a circle. Cast off loosely.
Top centre panel - I platted 9 strands of the wool (3x3) and tacked it into a circular shape tucking the ends underneath. A crochet panel or knitted nancy rope would also work.
    Make up.
Take a length of wool threaded through garter stitch ( purt top) side edge, gather and stich around centre panel.
    Blanket stich side seam.
Gather base the same as the top but do not gather until pouffe filled ( I used 2 old duvets but you could use beanbag filling). Now gather and oversee base.
NB.The two strips of purl stitches RS facing allow for the natural folds of the pouffe.

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 12.00mm (US 17)

    Measurements

Notes: Freestyle so I didn't check the tension.
I wanted a loose knit but you could size up or down as desired.
58 cm diameter, 36 cm high, centre panel 8cm.
