    About

I recently finished knitting a chunky throw, my first big knitting project in many years. Once it was finished not only did it get used a lot (cosy cover up on chilly spring evenings!) I also realised I wanted to carry on knitting so decided to make another throw. This one has been made to send over to my son in Australia for their chilly winter evenings.

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 10.00mm (US 15) 100cm

    Measurements

Notes: Approx length (excl fringe) 130cm x width 85cm

82 stitches. Moss stitch used. I just kept going until I ran out of wool!

I based the throw on a pattern I'd previously used, the guidance on there was that one ball of wool should be used for fringe. When I reached the last ball I fringed the bottom and then cut the same number of lengths of fringe for top edge. This way I could use up any remaining wool to continue knitting. With this particular wool the fringe did use a whole ball.

I only joined wool at end of rows, retaining the 'leftover' from each ball to use for the fringing.
Cost - £41 for wool (incl 25% discount)
