Contrasting heels, toes and cuffs in black. Usual rounded toe, cast on 14 stitches, increasing to 32. 4 more rows, then start main colour.
At 7.5 inches, do heel in contrasting colour, then 16 rows plain (equates to 2 colour stripes on the wool), switch to 2.25mm needles and start pattern round leg.
It’s starting to get a little tight around the leg. Have increased on either end 4 stitches over the 8th set of purl stitches after the heel, and then added in those 4 stitches to the knit portion of the pattern.
I’m going to give these to my sister, and as I know she wants a pair of longer legged socks, I’ll probably have to increase again over the calf.
Increased again on the 10th set of purl stitches after the heel. Continue on for 6.5 pattern repeats finishing on 3 rows of purl. 16 rows 2x2 rib, cast off loosely.
