I haven't bought a pattern for decades but I saw this Ebony tunic and thought 'I have got to try that'. I didn't want to spend lots when I didn't know how it would go so decided to make in Hayfield Bonus Chunky. Good move...it made up much bigger than I expected even though, as always I did a gauge square. In fact it was so big I knitted it again two sizes smaller. Being chunky of course it knitted up really fast so it wasn't a big hassle.
I have to say that I'm a sucker for moss stitch, this is what in the UK we'd call double moss stitch and this is going to be an autumn/winter basic with jumpers/t-shirts under. Looks fab with leggins too. Can't wait now to make it in some really beautiful wool. I put the buttons on to smooth over the join of the collar. I think next time I might knit straight over the top catching in the edge of the jumper as I go. It would make a smoother front. Also, I'm tempted to make in the round.
