I made a whole string of these single colour puppets as bunting to advertise our new knitting group Good Yarn. They were so quick to make compared to the therapy puppets with all those ends to sew in I began thinking how to get more puppets into the system. Children’s therapists ask for ways of dealing with emotions. These puppets are neither gender specific nor racially specific, they are for the children to identify with the emotion. These are two sides of one puppet, angry, and worried. I’ve dealt with the problem of embroidering on knitted fabric by tacking a piece of Vilene interfacing on the back of the face while making the expressions. Added confused, and frightened and will do happy sad as usual then Emotiknit will be complete as a set of three. Knitted 4 sets so far. Just working through adding the faces and pairing up halves.
