    About

I knit beaded bridal bags on 0000 needles. So when I saw this adorable baby cardi pattern, I thought, "How hard could it be?" Needless to say, I found it very challenging. It was my first knitted lace project. And my first time knitting teeny tiny sleeves on DPN's. I had to walk away from it several times and almost gave up several more. But I persevered and am in love with this tiny little sweater!

Update: I am going to try Bamboo needles. I think DPN sets with 5 needles will work better than 4 needles. Hopefully they will not slip out of the yarn like my aluminum ones did either. Also, for this tiny size, the shorter the needle, the better if you ask me. You definitely do not need 60 cm circular needles for the newborn size. 41 cm is plenty long enough and then you will not have to fight the cable. I shortened the sleeves a little, too. Since I used fingering yarn, the sweater turned out smaller (really preemie size) and the sleeves were looking like they would be too long

I found this pattern very challenging. But I really want to make another one. Perhaps not with #1 fingering yarn and perhaps with bigger needles. The result is very much worth the effort.
