This summer I ended up on my motorcycle in Sturgis with a buddy who's bike had broken down. We were essentially trapped for about a week in a campground, waiting for new parts. Luckily, the man who ran the campground was extremely kind and generous. He let my buddy borrow tools, gave a discount and included us in meals with his close biker friends.
One afternoon I was passing time knitting a hat and he asked me what I was making. He told me his grandmother used to knit and that it was a shame you could never find a nice thick knitted scarf anymore. After all the help he'd given us, I decided to take that as a hint and knitted up the warmest, thickest scarf I could imagine for him.
