    About

This is my first knitted toy. I have knitted a mum and baby bear (family photos added). Teddy is an excellent shape with great instructions. The videos for the construction were invaluable. The increases and decreases do need to be worked quite tight and the tension monitored more closely than when knitting a garment as every stitch shows. (No reading while knitting for this one). I changed his arms for the Knit a Teddy rabbit arms as liked the contrast paws better.

Debbie Bliss Rialto is DK a beautiful yarn to work with but the pattern does use every centimetre of the main colour.

I used Addi Fixed Laced Circular Needles; not because the pattern required them but because the work can relax on the cable between sessions and the stitches are safe from falling off. These have a slim point; great for working at this tension.

I am now making another as I don't think I can part with him.

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 3.25mm (US 3) 40cm

    Accessories

    • Stitch Markers
    • Tapestry Needle
    • Stuffing
Other : I stitched the eyes and nose as this is safer for babies.

    Measurements

    Approx. 38cm (15") tall

    Notes: He is beautifully proportioned

That's how it begins, you knit your first teddy and before you know it there's another on your needles😊 Your right to continue as this is a very lovely and well made bear.
