I wanted to have an entirely crocheted necklace with no chain, only jewelry closures. Thread the closures on the yarn, and then chain 101. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and sc to the end of the ch. At the end of the row Slide one of the closures close to the work, ch one, securing the closure, and turn. On the next row, sc in each st to the last st. For the last st, yo and pull up a loop, slide the second closure close to the work, yo and pull through both loops, securing the closure, and turn. Now sl st 18 stitches, ch 1, and start following row one of the pattern graph.
Earrings: Row 1: either a) using the magic ring method, sc 22, tighten the ring and sl st last sc to the 1st sc, or b) ch 8, sl st to 1st ch forming a ring. Ch 1, sc 22 in ring, sl st last sc to 1st sc. Row 2: ch 4, tc in the next 7 sts, ch 1, turn. Row 3: sc in 1st 3 sts, ch 7, skip one st, sc in last three sts, ch 3, turn. Row 4: dc in 3 sts, 10 dc over ch 7 loop, dc in 3 sts. Fasten off. Attach earring finding.
