    About

I love Felicia Lo's patterns because they are simple to knit (basic lace) yet it gives you a dramatic effect. For me, I prefer using fingering weight for all my shawls because I want them to be practical as well as beautiful.

One thing I'd like to say to anyone who is intimidated by lace knitting is that if you can do a few simple stitches, like yarn overs, then you can knit a lace shawl. Just place markers in between each lace repeat so you can see right away if your count is off.

NOTE: The pattern says “work all p sts through the back loop” - this ONLY applies to the first ws row immediately following an increase row. Not for the whole shawl. My friend was intimidated by this so she just did regular p sts and it looked just fine, so that is optional.

    • Circular 4.00mm (US 6)

Notes: You can adjust the size of this shawl by adding repeats at the bottom. I made the larger version by repeating the bottom lace chart twice. Blocking pulled the points out, although next time I knit this I'll add a picot at the end of each ''bolt''.

I use a 4mm needle but I knit loosely. Using fingering you may want to go up a size if you knit tighter.
