    About

Quite an impromptu knit, more of a last minute Christmas present, all because we were a tad clueless as to what would be the best present for a 1 year old darling.

Enter the extra DIY bauble, little bells lying around & the thankfully, skeins of yarn (which are not pink. phew…) in my yarn house. Quickly whipped up a simple pattern as I went along knitting it, especially after having learnt Judy's Magic Cast On. So, lo & behold... Lulu came about!

I’ve decided to alternate the stockinette & garter stitches to create different textures, with hope of enhancing the little girl’s developing touch senses. Thank goodness Little Ilsa wasn't too much of a must-be-everything-pink sort of girl. The cheery coloured yarn got her excited as well.

I've contacted the LoveKnitting elves about the glitch! Please don't worry about the pattern - and the prep for International Women's Day is way more important anyway; good luck. I will get to the slippers soon as I am knitting a pair of gloves which then have to be felted. I have felted by accident (clothes) and once made a felted teddy which turned out a bit wonky. I will have to give the charms some thought - depends who I make the slippers for!

For some reason, probably my ineptitude, I can't reply on my page to your comments but I would love to try a rattling rabbit. I have already downloaded the elf slipper pattern. But only write the pattern if and when you have the time. I don't want to be greedy!

Me either. It must be a glitch on the website. I would only be able to publish the rabbit's pattern sometime after the second week of March, if you don't mind. I've got something going on at the moment - in prep of International Women's Day. Shall let you know once I do.

In the meantime, let me know how your slippers turn out yea? I can't wait to see what sort of charms you'll add to yours! I'm adding leather tassels for my husband's pair to give it a more "classic" look.
