    About

    Turtleneck Poncho from the book "Designer Crochet" by Shannon Mullett-Bowlsby. This was a new challenge for me and I'm very happy with the result. The colors are inspired by the American Southwest (where I live). The stitch pattern is deceptively simple. It's all single crochet (UK double), so a bit time consuming. I deviated from the pattern on the turtleneck - preferring to use only one color, feeling like the body of the poncho is "busy" enough. I also added one row of double crochet (UK treble) along the bottom, for a cleaner edge. I'm seriously considering making another as a holiday gift, if I have the time and patience!
