    About

I started this project not long after my daughter was born at 27 weeks and 6 days along. She was born surprisingly healthy for her gestational age, but it would be a long NICU stay nevertheless. In between skin to skin cuddles and taking care of her during the day, I worked on this blanket. It is done in quarters, adding a square at a time to a quarter by picking up stitches as you start each new square. It helped me keep my calm and helped me work through a few mild anxiety attacks during that time, when hubby was overseas. I finished it about a month after bringing Moo home from the hospital. I also made a second, smaller blanket from the leftovers, for her to use till she grew into the big one.
