My wedding shawl

I made this for Myself

    About

I chose an unusual coloured dress to get married in, so decided the best way to find a shawl to go with it would be to make one myself. It was my first serious lace project and it was a bit of a challenge: it was finished with only about a day to spare. But I was very pleased with how it turned out and it was lovely to have something unique to wear on our big day.

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 3.75mm (US 5) 30cm

    Measurements

    One size only: 203 x 34 cm

Notes: I found in this yarn and with my tension that it came up quite a lot smaller than the pattern: I needed to add a couple of extra repeats to get the length and width desired (it still ended up a bit smaller than the pattern dimensions). However the two balls were still enough with a bit to spare.

Hi Sally, that's very kind of you, thank you. The pattern is called Niobe, by Fiber Dreams - it doesn't seem to be available on this site anymore but I think it's still available elsewhere online. Hope your daughter has a very beautiful wedding day!
