    About

I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2015, I was struggling and things had really taken a dark turn for me. Then one sad damp afternoon last year, I found myself sheltering from the rain in a newsagents. I decided to buy some extra time by browsing the magazines before leaving. It was then that I was drawn to a knitting magazine, there was a cute pattern for some ‘easy’ toy mice and a free set of yarn and needles to complete the project. I decided I had nothing to lose and nothing to do that afternoon, and as the shop assistant seemed to be tired of my presence I paid up and a new hobby was born! Something about knitting really calmed my mind. The repetitions were relaxing, the sight of a piece of work taking shape from a ball of wool to a finished toy filled me with pride. I wasn’t an expert by any stretch but with the help of YouTube and my Grandma I started to improve, both in my knitting and in myself. I have no trouble saying, knitting saved my life!
