Pair of Monkeys

I made this for my Son & Daughter-in-law, who were expecting their first baby.

    About

    A very precious baby, as they had suffered two miscarriages in the year before this baby's arrival.
    I have had plenty of experience of knitting a variety of garments,for babies, children and adults, and have mastered Fair Isle items, over the years, but have never made any toys.
    I do love a challenge, so do not readily opt for basic, simple patterns.
    I found that there was conflicting information on the online details and the pattern,regarding the required amount of wool necessary for this pattern, so I opted for the larger amount. The end result was that I had so much wool left over, there was plenty to knit a second monkey (and maybe, even enough for a third)!
    I found the knitting was a joy to do, but sewing it together was rather a challenge.
    However I am very satisfied with the finished result, as are the proud parents of Matthew James, born on April 25th 2018.
