I'm an engineer, binary numbers (0 and 1) are my world; knit and purl are similar: just 2 stitches that made up amazing things we use everyday. I'm always in awe that, after centuries of knitting, people are still discovering new methods of knitting!
The Mohave desert where I used to work is filled with wild life. Driving home from work, I used to stop along the roads to look for bunnies and owls, feeling so alive in the desert! The owls are what I remember most.
I recently lost a brother who was very dear to me. Studies show knitting releases dopamine in our brain which acts as a natural antidepressant. Knitting helps me cope with this loss.
For the mittens' cuffs, instead of using the normal ribbing called for in the pattern, I added braids and motifs to make the mittens more original.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Thank you!
I purchased Jorid Linvik Big Book Of Knitted Mittens on Amazon.
The book is very nice and has 45 patterns of animals and birds. :)
