Rainbow Cardigan - purples 1

I made this for Heidi's 2nd birthday present (well she got it for her 3rd birthday instead)

    About

I prefer to reduce the amount of sewing required so I adapted this pattern for knitting in one piece for the body. Still left me with 70 ends to sew in though.
I ended up with a couple more button holes than the pattern suggested but that wasn't a problem as I hadn't decided on the number needed or bought any buttons at that stage ... note to self ... read all the instructions before you get too far along ... I did spacing by number of rows instead of the method suggested in the pattern.

I finally sewed the button on the purples cardigan ... the night before her 3rd birthday :-O I know I was slack but the weather was too warm for it before now :-D. What a good excuse. It fits her well & even needs a small turn up of the sleeves so the 12 month wait wasn't an error. Phew! I will upload a photo, when I download them from the camera.

I managed to finally sew the buttons on the night before her 3rd birthday :-D
It fits well & even needs a little sleeve turn up. What a lucky thing she didn't grow heaps! Phew, I got away with that one okay.
I'll find the photo's & upload them. shortly.

It's really lovely yarn to knit with so that part wasn't a problem, I just ran into the 'who in their right mind knits something that has so many ends to sew in' issue. Really when I sat down to it, it didn't take much time at all, just the thought of it was a little daunting.
      :-D ;-)
Next project (the pinks cardigan) has a "needs to be done by" date for the end of June ... hmmm ... so it will also be a 2017 start with a 2018 completion date.

70 ends to sew in!!! Oh no... is that what I have to look forward to? [I have recently bought yarn to knit this cardigan]. Love your photo showing all the ends!

I still have about 20 to go ;-). I keep finding excuses not to get it done. Her birthday was 9th so I'm a bit late :-) she tried it on as it was a couple of days ago so she's not missing out ... yet. I really should be doing them now ... what can I distract myself with :-D ;-)
It does look nice though. I must upload photo I took last night. It shows the front band which I hadn't done when I took the later photos.
I found it quite easy to knit in one piece although I did have to plan it out using a spreadsheet/graph, roughly estimating how many rows I would have to get mentioned length & so I knew what I was up to with button holes & decreases. I'll do the same for the next size along that I will be starting, when I finish sewing. That one will be in pinks for her elder sister.
