    About

Crystal Palace Merino 5 was on offer so I bought 20 balls of the 50g superwash yarn and then chose the pattern (I usually chose the yarn before a pattern). The yarn is described in LK as Worsted 10ply and seemed quite fine and very stretchy. The pattern was easy enough but I cannot say that I am impressed with the twisting stitches; they look somewhat untidy. Even so, the lovely red that I chose looked pretty good, I think, with black corduroy leggings and red ankle warmers. I always wear a long-sleeved fine top beneath jumpers but even though the neckline (I chose the crew neck which is cleverly done) is quite high, the yarn is soft and I didn't find it in the least itchy. I wouldn't knit this jumper again with the twist but as I like the neckline I would use it for a modified version of my own. The jumper used about 15 x 50g balls. It took two balls for the ankle warmers (about 9in long. I used two threads of yarn together, 38 stitches, I think 7mm single point needles).

Hi, thanks for your comment. I'm glad you like it. I don't wear a lot of red but now and then it's a change from my usual cooler colours. Hope yours works out well.
