This year, I set myself the challenge of trying to design toys from scratch. I wasn’t convinced that it was possible but, when Jimmy Snail turned out much cuter than expected, I decided to try something a bit more ambitious and Sonia is that something!
I have to admit that a lot of it was trial and error… mainly error. But, after many false starts (and a change of head), Sonia emerged and I still can’t quite believe that I’ve made something so elegant-looking! She turned out a lot bigger than I anticipated but, if you’re going to make a knitted heron, you might as well make a life-size one, right?!
