    About

While I was studying to become an Occupational Therapist I had a rather bad episode of depression and anxiety. My husband was away on operations with the Army, (he'd left on a 6 month tour 2 weeks after getting back from honeymoon.) I was having difficulties in other areas that I don't need to divulge here, and I was overwhelmed with life, study, and emotional pressures so my mental health really suffered. I had to take some time out from my degree course as a result, so as some self-therapy, I decided to knit all 25 of my course mates a personalised super-OT doll as a graduation present. It was great fun adding little personal touches to Jean Greenhowe's design. The bald one at the front is awaiting a hijab, and the close up is of a girl with dreadlocks. The last photo shows some of us at graduation. Knitting the dolls kept me busy and sane through a very difficult time and they were all really appreciated by the recipients :) Knitting is my therapy, I can't recommend it enough!
