For the last couple of years, I’ve been attempting to be more eco-concious. It has actually been more challenging than I than I expected, due to the higher cost of organic produce, the ever-increasing use of plastic packaging materials, and the availability of grass-fed meats. I do put as much as possible in the recycle bin, and I use only glass containers in the microwave. I don’t enjoy cooking, though, which adds to the challenge of reducing my use of prepackaged foods. But I can knit! So here is my ***Preservation*** collection ~ three shawls designed as a tribute to my efforts to go green ~ Hayfield, Restated, and Sustain.
***Sustain***
Light and airy for summer, this asymmetrical shawl uses lace, garter stitch and yarnovers to create a drapey accessory. I used a locally sourced bamboo yarn for my sample (which was challenging for me to photograph!). The design is worked either from charts or the full written instructions.
