    About

I decided to knit the Nativity to introduce our grandchildren to the Christmas story. The soft characters and animals are fun to hold and play with and this will make them relatable and most probably, chewed. I hope it will come out each Christmas and its message will be passed down.

    Needles & Hooks

    • Crochet Hook 3.00mm (US 2.5)
    • Double Point 3.25mm (US 3) 15cm
    • Single Point 3.25mm (US 3) 25cm

    Accessories

    • Stitch Holder
    • Tapestry Needle
    • Stuffing
Other : There was a fair amount of knitting with double strands of Anchor gold yarn - it's not easy to wrangle which is why I balked at knitting the star! I used lots of left over DK yarn from my stash which 'excuses', I hope, some of the colour combinations.

    Measurements

Notes: I have to confess that I have omitted the star and one of the shepherds and all the sandalled feet apart from St. Joseph's. I might finish properly if I have time. It took longer than I expected as there are lots of little components involved and there's a Christmas on!

My husband has just pointed out that Melchior looks like he's a West Ham supporter and not from the East at all. It's football, how would I know?
