    About

This was my first shawl, my first colourwork piece, and my first time working with luxury yarn that just felt good. It was about the process as much as the product. As a college student living in a foreign country, knitting helps keep me centred. The repetition of the soft yarn flowing through my fingers provided a relaxing opportunity to reflect on all of my responsibilities. Each time I wear it, it reminds me of my capabilities, despite how stressful things feel.

I really enjoyed this pattern. The mosaic technique is so simple, but the effect is stunning. The attention to detail - for example the slipped stitch edge really gives the piece an elegant polished look. The size and shape is versatile and I often wear it as a scarf as well as a shawl.
