        Hi Ellen!
        These are socks which feature an unusual heel construction. The photo shows the heel of one completed sock, and the cuff of the second sock. The pattern is called "Vanilla is the New Black" and it's designed by Anneh Fletcher. Unfortunately, I don't think the pattern has been added to LoveKnitting yet, but I'm sure you'll be able to find it somewhere on the internet :)
