Hi Sue hope this helps the set up pattern is to mark your borders the next set is your increase pattern (12 rows) which you repeat 19 times.....tip count your stitches after every row. It is confusing because it doesn’t state every row good luck it is beautiful when it’s finished i’m On my 3rd now !!

Hi Gill the setup pattern is to mark your borders the next set is your increase pattern (12rows) which you repeat 19 times I think it's confusing because the rows aren't written singularly another tip....count your stitches after every increase. hope this helps

Thank you for your answer, I have been knitting for about 55 years, learnt when I was 11years old. I am new to making comments on things, I must take photos of the things I make. Have made things for 11 grand children, for country markets. And all sorts of other things. Jean M

Hi Jacqui the recommended size is a 5mm which I used but my tension is quite tight so therefore I will go up a needle size when I knit the next one the finished width was slightly smaller after blocking.

Thank you so much for your reply. Silly question but when you cite you will go up a needle size, is that to size 4mm or 6mm. I am not sure which way is up :) x

@Jacqui P: I will go up too 5.5mm if you work a tension square and you have fewer stitches than recommended you would try a 4.75mm needle if you have too many then you would use a 5.5mm needle my tension square was borderline so I opted for the stated needle but next time I will go up a size I hope that helps it took me a while to get my head around it! Always do a tension square it does make a difference to the finished result but not so much with scarves

I have just bought the pattern and the West Yorkshire Spinners yarn too. I note that it is a different yarn to the pattern so should I still use 5.00 mm needles please? I don't normally deviate in yarn recommendation but I love the creamy colour of this x

Hi Sally, I have just started making this in the same yarn and colour as yours, and I too am loving how this yarn is knitting up, and very impressed at how soft the yarn is. Can't wait to get mine finished. Thanks for sharing yours. It looks great on you!

What size needles did you use? I, too, have just ordered the yarn but I note that it is a different 'thickness' to the one stated in the pattern x
