    About

I decided that I would make a shawl for myself as I haven't made anything for myself before and I had some beautiful yarn from Groovy Hues that I wanted to do something special with. I have crocheted since I was 7 and just took up knitting 2 years ago when a dear friend taught me. This is my first project that isn't a dishcloth or scarf and has stitches a little more complicated than the basic knit and purl. I suffer from depression and anxiety so my knitting time helps me to focus and I feel joy knowing that I am creating something beautiful. Knitting relaxes me and helps with the anxiety I have build up during my stressful days working in an accounting office. I love to find patterns and yarn that I know will make something to bring joy to others as well. My 11 year old son has ADHD and I have noticed when I have him learning, he finds a time to focus and it has helped him relax as well. Knitting has been my saving grace these past 2 years and I look forward to my nightly knitting.
