Two years ago, while out walking I suffered the first of a series of TIA's, when I couldn't speak.Eventually we continued walking home.Over the next few days I had others, all different, and two days later my husband took me to A&E where ,following a brain scan which showed up mini-strokes, I was admitted on to a ward., eventually having an operation on my carotid artery. By this time the TIA's numbered seven.After a spell in a High Dependency Unit, a friend gave me a knitting pattern for a hat for my grand daughter, a ball of wool and a pair of needles. I remember sitting in bed knowing that they somehow connected but not remembering how to use them - quite a scary moment On returning home,and improving with memory and movement I decided to join a new local knitting club with friends and over the past 2 years I have relearned how to knit, sew, embroider and make bobbin lace.I was given the first edition of Simply Stylish Knitting and decided to knit squares to make cushion covers
