I found this pattern on ebay (Leaf Pattern Bedspread) and as I was looking for a winter project I decided to source the yarn for the correct tension. The yarn used is King Cole Giza Cotton in Cappuccino/pebble/cream. By using this yarn it gives you a square of 45cm four triangles sewn together starting with the leaf in the centre. I have made it to fit a Victorian 4ft 6ins bed I made 25 squares 100 triangles. You create the pleated border by using the short row method. I have made a couple of alterations to the pattern to suit the bed. 1 - the lace effect above the pleats I have gradually increased to allow for the raise of the pillows 2 - I have finished the top with a van-dyke border. 3 - The bed has a foot board so I have partly sew the square. Special attention is required when sewing the squares together so all seams are the same tension and dimensions and look parallel when viewed. This extra effort makes all the difference.
