These are the socks I made when I could do nothing else after Mum became a paraplegic. She had a lot of complications and my brain would just not stop thinking and thinking about what I could do, and how close we cam to losing her and when would she be okay and why is her haemoglobin so low.... on and on and on.
The only thing I could do to shut up that voice was to do something. We visited the hospital a lot and it really helped to have something for my hands to do... so I knitted.
It's just a vanilla sock, with an eye of partridge heel (my favourite).
The yarn screamed for simple, and simple was all I could do, and it worked. We got through those first weeks.
Yarn is from my friend, who dyes the most beautiful colourways.
