    About

On 9/11 the events of that day changed America as well as the rest of the world. As an American, as a New Yorker, I live each day with the memory of friends lost and other family and friends forever changed. Already knowing the tragic events of that day, I came home from work to sit in front of the T.V. I am a knitter....I have knit my whole life..... making beautiful, intricate and complicated knit projects. That day sitting in front of the T.V. I could not concentrate on my knitting.....the very thing that would sooth my nerves.....I needed something easy to work on. I pulled some baby yarn from my stash and started to knit a hat.....just knitting the same stitch round and round. My hands working and my brain trying to understand what had happened. It has come to pass through all these years that I love to knit hats and especially the tiny ones. With each little hat I knit I celebrate a new life born....that makes me very happy.

I've been making newborn hats too. I love the accent border and little bows on top. I'm going to have to make some like yours. It makes a simple hat look special.
