During my lifetime I have cared for so many family members with cancer (lung, breast, liver, ovarian, colon and pancreatic) I made prayer shawls and bed sox for each of them. When 2 of my cousins passed, their daughters found peace in wearing the shawls on cold nights, but especially loved wearing the sox. After my daughter passed in 2012 with Liver cancer, leaving me to raise her 3 teenage children, I made a resolution to take at least 1 hour each day to do what I enjoy most, knitting, my thought was - why not knit sox for everyone. So I started with the 2 granddaughters I was raising, then when their friends saw the sox, they wanted them. Now I knit sox every day. Since I am on a fixed income, age 70, I use all kinds of yarn. I like the acrylics /machine wash and dry/ but it has to have stretch. Sox are knit summer/winter, thin for shoes, worsted wt for slipper sox/boot sox.(all sizes) All Knit with my Heart & Soul...Thus SOUL SOX!!
