This lovely cowl is the result of many experiments with Merino tops. I hand felted the yarn once I had split it twice. I ended up with a gauge of yarn that works wonderfuly with a 20mm-25mm needle or hook. I made this cowl with a 20mm crochet hook. It is lovely and substantial and looks great with my new breton stripe top. It took a record 45 mins to make too! So almost an instant wear project :)
Whilst I used my own merino tops for this project, a suitable alternative would be Tjockt Fat n Sassy or Purl Soho Gentle Giant or even loopy mango big loop mini. The great thing about this project is it only takes one 250g hank to complete.
