Product Details
Aletheia is a circular shawl. It is started from the center and knitted in the round, evenly increasing the stitch count until the outer edge is reached. You are always knitting on the right side of the fabric, until you reach the edge portion of the shawl. The work is begun with double pointed needles and continued with circular needles as the shawl grows bigger. When the body portion is completed, the shawl is finished by knitting a lace edging sideways around the outside of the circular body portion. The edge portion is worked on both sides of the fabric (RS and WS).
The shawl is begun with written instructions for a stockinette stitch beginning, after which the lace portion begins. The lace pattern is charted only and it consists of three different charts. The stitches used are k, p, yo, k2tog, k3tog, skp, sk2p and m1. The swatch uses also p2tog.
