Product Details
This is a reversible beanie with optional double-ended tassel for older kids. Each side has the same pattern, just different colours. The main areas of the pattern are composed of a chevron pattern, which is itself composed of knit and purl stitches in different combinations. It is a circular version of a Barbara Walker pattern. It is knitted-in-the-round and there is hand sewing involved. Full written instructions are provided as well as many photos. There are 6 different yarns used; 3 for each side, (border, side and crown).Each side could have varying shades of a colour. It's sensible to use the same yarn type for corresponding sections on each side. I have made a basic chart of the chevron pattern. You will need to pick up and knit stitches. Included with the pattern is an introduction to circular knitting as well as techniques and abbreviations used. Gauge is 20sts/10cm or 5sts/1in over seed stitch. Yardage is approximately 390m/425yards for small and 570m/625yards for larger size.
