Product details

Arianrhod (pronounced: ah-ree-AN-rod (try and gently trill the “r” a bit like in Spanish) means ‘Silver Wheel’ in Welsh and she is known as a star goddess. A circular shawl inspired by themes associated with her in Celtic mythology, worked from the centre out with sections of lace and regular increases. The edging is worked sideways and knitted onto the main part of the shawl, so that there is very little finishing apart from grafting a few stitches together. It is given in three sizes with a choice of two edgings and is suitable for lace to 3ply weight yarn. An interesting knit for the intermediate knitter used to working lace, although not hard since alternate rounds are ‘rest rounds’ of knit only. Suitable for any season depending on yarn, it would also be lovely as a baby shawl – after all Arianrhod is also known as the ‘mother goddess’. The detailed instructions are fully written as well as charted throughout & the pattern has been professionally tech edited and tested.
