Arkenstone is a top-down shawl which begins with a large garter stitch tab. Stitches are picked up along the tab, forming the spine of the shawl. The spine, which anchors the shawl is a 3/3 cable. The size of the shawl grows with increases on the shawl edges and along the spine. The body of the shawl is a simple diamond shape created with yarn overs and decreases.
The size of the shawl can be increased by working the pattern repeat additional times. This will require additional yardage. Pattern is charted only.
As written: 60” across the top and 36” down the spine. Final size may vary depending on needle size and how aggressively you block the shawl.
Approximately 26 sts x 26 rows = 4" in diamond pattern.
The shawl used almost the full skein of yarn, *with only a couple feet to spare*. If your gauge is different than that stated or you wish to make the shawl bigger by adding repeats, an extra skein will be required. Sub
