Description

My love of trees inspired Bark, which is a fairly easy knit, suitable for the adventurous beginner.

It’s worked in a simple but interesting slip-st pattern, making it quick to knit (no purl sts) and cosy to wear, creating the perfect textured shawl for cooler weather. It is easily customisable, with instructions both for enlarging it and working a striped version. This is a triangular shawl in two sizes, worked top down using 4 ply (fingering) weight yarn. It is best worked in a solid or semi-solid colour to show the textured patterns to their advantage. Using a heavier weight yarn would give a larger, even cosier, winter shawl.

Yarn required: Fingering (4ply) weight, medium size approx 437 yd / 400m - 460 yd / 421 m. Large size: approx 720 yd / 660m. Large striped version: Main Colour 370 yd / 338 m, Contrasting Colour 350 yd / 320 m.

The instructions are both written and charted & have been professionally edited.
