The fabric of the traveling rib stitch circles the leg, mimicking the diagonal stripe of the Eton College school tie, Hastings’ Alma Mater.
The pattern is made up entirely of knits and purls, making this an easy knit, although it still requires some attention. On the foot, the traveling rib subtly turns into stocking stitch. The right and left sock patterns are mirrored, creating a pointer when the feet are side by side.
